COMING UP WITH THE IDEA

I personally wanted to learn about countries in the world map, but I did not know where to start.

I wanted an app that will allow me to learn the name of countries gradually. I also wanted it to be relaxing, where I can sail around the world map and read about countries. Based on these requirements, Sailboat Geography was created.

CREATING THE MAP

To generate the map, the coordinates of the boundaries of countries are obtained and plotted.

A radius within each country is also manually fitted, in order to detect if the boat has entered or left a country.

DESIGNING THE BOATS

I wanted to give players a choice as to the type of boat they are sailing. So a pink and an orange boat is created, and players are asked to choose one right at the start of the game. Those boats can also further be customised, its mirrors etc. can be changed.
